230 kV / 500 kV HTLS Conductor Upgrade Feasibility

Client: Conductor Upgrade Studies

230–500 kV HTLS PLS-TOWER Feasibility Study Structural Analysis

Project Overview

Performed structural modeling and analysis of existing high-voltage lattice structures to evaluate feasibility of conductor upgrades to High-Temperature Low-Sag (HTLS) configurations. Scope included:

- PLS-TOWER modeling of dead-end and suspension towers
- Evaluation of tower member capacities under proposed bundled HTLS loading
- Connection detailing review and reinforcement assessment
- Foundation reaction analysis under upgraded conductor configurations
- Comparative utilization and blowout clearance analyses
- Construction scenario evaluation — circuit removal, temporary conductor transfers
- Identification of locations where temporary structures could be eliminated

Delivered engineering conclusions confirming tower adequacy and identifying constraints affecting constructability and upgrade execution.
