66-Mile Transmission Line Rebuild Program (115 kV / 230 kV)

Client: Major Line Rebuild Program

115–230 kV PLS-CADD Steel Poles LiDAR Helicopter Construction Foundations

Project Overview

Served as engineer of record for a comprehensive transmission line rebuild program covering 66 miles across three separate 230 kV and 115 kV lines. Technical challenges included:

- Mountainous terrain without maintained access roads
- Structures located within flood zones
- Large river and valley crossings
- Double-circuit and adjacent transmission circuit configurations
- Helicopter-access construction requirements
- New structure framing standard development
- Steel pole design and aluminum tower upgrade analysis
- Full PLS-CADD implementation with LiDAR surveys
- Geotechnical coordination and foundation designs
- Construction work package development and as-built documentation

The program required innovative engineering solutions to address extreme terrain conditions while maintaining constructability and schedule.
